El Profesor Pedro Sánchez Martín obtuvo el título de Ingeniero Industrial (ICAI) por la Universidad Pontificia Comillas en 1993 y el título de Doctor Ingeniero Industrial por la misma universidad en 1998. A finales de 1999 se incorporó al Departamento de Organización Industrial y al Instituto de Investigación Tecnológica (IIT) de la Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Su actividad investigadora se centra en el desarrollo de herramientas de ayuda a la toma de decisiones en la planificación y operación de mercados energéticos y sistemas industriales. Se ha especializado en el modelado y aplicación de técnicas de investigación operativa. Desde finales de 1999 imparte clases de Investigación Operativa y de Planificación y Operación de Sistemas Logísticos y de Producción en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería del ICAI. Desde junio de 2013 ocupa el puesto de Director del Departamento de Organización Industrial.
