Jorge Díaz Lanchas is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Universidad Pontificia Comillas-ICADE. He holds an MSc in International Economics (2012) and a PhD in Economics, awarded summa cum laude with mención internacional (2016), both from the Autonomous University of Madrid. His doctoral thesis received recognition from the Spanish Royal Academy of Doctors in 2017. He completed research stays at renowned institutions such as Harvard University, the College of Europe, Purdue University, Free University Amsterdam, the University of Illinois, and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, as well as at several institutions in Spain. In 2023, he served in the National Office of Foresight and Strategy within the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of Spain. Previously, he worked as an economist and researcher at the European Commission (2017–2021). A specialist in international trade, regional, and urban economics, he has published extensively in top-tier international journals. His teaching experience includes roles at Loyola Andalucia University (2018–2020) and the Autonomous University of Madrid (2012–2016). Additionally, he has delivered executive education programs for leading companies such as BBVA, Santander, El Corte Inglés, and Repsol. Currently, he also provides consulting and research analysis for companies specialized in public policies.
