Daniela Serban is Associate Professor in International Relations at Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Previously, she was Assistant Professor in Public Policy at King's College London in the International School for Government and postdoctoral researcher at Waseda University in Tokyo. Daniela's research has been supported by prestigious institutions, including the University of Warwick through the Chancellor's Scholarship, the Roi Baudouin Foundation via the David Constant Funds, the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science through the JSPS Fellowships, and King's College London. More recently, Daniela has started a research project on the EU's global governance. This project involves doctoral and established researchers from universities in Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Daniela serves as the project leader and PI, and the project has received funding from the EUPeace Alliance. Daniela is also the director of the Master's programme in International Security Management. The programme stands out through its unique approach to tackling the complexities of modern security threats and has established a network of partner universities in Europe and the USA in order to deliver its contents. Beyond traditional military concerns, the programme addresses pressing issues such as climate change, energy sustainability, and cybersecurity. Students choose between two innovative specialisation tracks: Global Risk Management and Cyber-challenges and Narrative Information Management. Through tailored internships and a focus on practical skills, this master's prepares graduates to effectively manage international security challenges in both public and private sectors.

Before joining academia, Daniela worked in international development and crisis management, in the European Parliament, the European Commission, and in FIIAPP, the Spanish international development public foundation, where she was the Innovation and Strategy Officer.
