Dr. Diego Agulló is an Associate Professor of Law at Universidad Pontificia Comillas and a Senior Research Scholar at Yale Law School. Professor Agulló was a Predoctoral Guest at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European and Regulatory Procedural Law, where he was a Max Planck Scholar; a Graduate Research Trainee at McGill University’s Faculty of Law in Montreal; a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg; and a Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School in New York City. His research interests include Transnational Litigation, Class Actions, Foreign Investment Law, International Arbitration, and Citizenship Law. Professor Agulló is the Academic Sponsor of the Comillas Alumni International Arbitration Club. He is a member of the American Society of International Law, the European Association of Private International Law, the Madrid Bar Association, and the Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). Professor Agulló graduated at the top of his class in his Degree, Master’s, and PhD programs in Law and received the Royal Academy of Doctors of Spain Award for Best Doctoral Thesis in Law, as well as the XXIV “José María Ramón de San Pedro” Award for the Best Doctoral Thesis defended at the Schools of Law and Business Administration of Universidad Pontificia Comillas. In 2026, he was named Professor of the Year by the students of the Master’s Degree in International and European Business Law (MIEBL).
