Prof. Covadonga Meseguer is Full Professor (ANECA & AQU Accredited) in International Politics and Political Economy at ICADE (Comillas Pontifical University). I have a PhD in Political Science (2002) and I am a member of the Juan March Institute for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (Madrid, Spain). I have held teaching and research positions at New York University, European University Institute (EUI), Kellogg Institute for International Studies, Barcelona Institute for International Studies (IBEI), Nuffield College, the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE), the University Carlos III Madrid (UC3M), the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and the National Distance Learning University (UNED). In my first research project, I explored the international diffusion of market reforms. More recently, I have worked in comparative and international political economy, political economy of international migration, and Latin America political economy. I am the author of articles that have appeared in Electoral Studies, American Journal of Political Science, The Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, International Migration Review, International Studies Quarterly, World Development, European Journal of Political Research, European Journal of Political Economy, The Review of International Political Economy, and others. In 2009, she published the book "Learning, Policy Making, and Market Reforms" (Cambridge University Press). In 2014, she co-edited the Special Issue International Migration and Home Country Politics , which was published in Studies in Comparative International Development. In 2022, I co-authored "Migration and Democracy: How Remittances Undermine Dictatorships" (Princeton University Press). This book was the co-winner of the APSA Migration and Citizenship Best Book Award (2023). My research has been funded by the Mexican National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT), The MacArthur Foundation, The British Academy, The Santander Chair of Excellence, The Leverhulme Trust, and the Spanish Ministry of Education (Beatriz Galindo Programme). I teach courses on International and Comparative Political Economy and on Political Economy of International Migration.
